When you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you’re going to receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) in return. On the SAR, you’ll find your “Expected Family Contribution” (EFC) to send your son or daughter to their institution, based on all the potential expenses:
